Hy-Gen® pH Up – Fast & Accurate pH Adjustment for Hydroponics
Maintaining the correct pH is essential for healthy plant growth and optimum nutrient uptake. Hy-Gen® pH Up is a premium 45% potassium hydroxide solution specifically formulated to safely and effectively raise the pH of nutrient solutions in hydroponic, coco, soil, and other growing systems. Its highly concentrated formula provides precise pH adjustment while requiring only small amounts of product, making it both economical and easy to use.
The pH of your nutrient solution directly affects how efficiently plants can absorb essential nutrients. If the pH becomes too low, important elements such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium may become less available, leading to nutrient imbalances, slower growth, and reduced plant performance. Regular monitoring and adjustment of pH helps maintain an ideal root zone environment, allowing plants to access the nutrients they need for healthy growth and maximum yields.
For the best results, always prepare your complete nutrient solution before making any pH adjustments. Once all nutrients and additives have been mixed into the reservoir, allow the solution to fully equilibrate. Depending on the size of your nutrient tank, this process can take up to 60 minutes. This ensures the final pH accurately reflects the complete nutrient solution before any adjustments are made.
Before adding Hy-Gen® pH Up to your reservoir, dilute the required amount in a separate container of clean water and mix thoroughly. Adding diluted pH adjuster promotes even distribution throughout the nutrient solution and helps prevent concentrated potassium hydroxide from coming into direct contact with plant roots or equipment. After adding the diluted solution, mix the reservoir thoroughly and allow 30–60 minutes before re-testing the pH. Repeat the adjustment only if necessary until the desired pH has been achieved.
